Five International Food Restaurants/Food Places in Ithaca, New York

Not only am I passionate about life and culture stories, but within that realm, I'm extremely interested in food. Food is my friend and when I first came to Ithaca, I was pleased with the amount of options the town has to offer. They're unique, have a wide variety and there is a culture behind the food. Here is a short list of some of the best international food restaurants you will find in Ithaca; your taste buds do not want to miss the chance to taste this food.

1) Le Café Cent-Dix

C'est très TRÈS bien! (Translation: it's very, VERY good). The menu is a bit on the pricey side, but I always say it's nice to treat yourself and splurge every once and a while, especially when it comes to food. The taste of the French bistro's menu will transport you to the country, you'll forget you're in Ithaca! This dish above is one of the restaurant's signature Plat du Jour: Duck Confit.

2) Hawi Ethiopian Restaurant

I have not been to the fairly new restaurant yet, but I have heard many great things about their food. In Ithaca, you wouldn't expect to get tasty, authentic African food, but Hawi really brings it to the table (no pun intended).

3) Istanbul Turkish Kitchen

Transport yourself to Istanbul, Turkey and try delectable dishes such as the ground lamb stuffed grape leaves with garlic yogurt, fried eggplant, lamb kebabs and more.

4) Pizza Aroma

This pizzeria's El Salvadorian food is fantastic. I know that's an odd sentence, but this food is really a hidden gem. Pupusas, pasteles, you name it. In conclusion, go for the El Salvadorian food, not the pizza.

5) Sticky Rice Thai and Laotian

Like Pizza Aroma, this is another small, quick eat place with some of the best Thai and Laotian food in town. It's affordable too, which is always a plus, and there is a variety of options, even for those who are vegan and vegetarian.

There are so many restaurants in Ithaca, it's hard to compile into such a short list. If I missed any of your favorites, leave a comment!
